My name's Holly Shaw and I'm 22 years old... I am in my 3rd year at Chester University (Warrington campus) doing an Early Childhood Studies degree! I have made loads of ace friends who are very understanding and I love them to bits! At the beginning of 2005 I was diagnosed with Kidney failure and dialysed 3 x a week for 4 years. I received my new kidney on 25th October 2008. It truly is the gift of life and thanks to the generosity of my donor and their family I will be able to fulfill some of my dreams. I am passionate about raising awareness of the chronic shortage of Organ Donors in the UK. I am a North West advocate for the transplant charity Live Life Then Give Life and run my own campaign called The Gift of Life. I am determined to encourage more people to sign the Organ Donor Register and recently co-ordinated Donor Day (7th April 2009) on which over 3500 people signed up! My family are a great support, I am truly grateful and love them lots, but it is thanks to my Donor I am here to do all this x
