Dear Mr Parkinson,

Thank You for being a fantastic English teacher.

I was eleven at the time, and twenty years later, these things still stand out;

You introduced us to the poem 'It's All in the State of the Mind' and I've known the words off by heart ever since. http://is.gd/1aev9">http://is.gd/1aev9- If I had to trace back why I'm such an optimist today, it would have to be because of this poem.

When we were becoming rowdy, you made us run around outside to burn off our energy.  We'd return to class refreshed and ready to concentrate.

You encouraged me personally in a way I can still remember.  You never talked down to me.  Even though I was very young, I felt that you believed in me.
