Back in 2010, my husband became increasingly unwell overnight. I tried contacting NHS direct and the GP on call service, but neither were very helpful. Eventually, as he deteriorated, I rang 999. From the guy on the phone who didn't hang up until the paramedic was with us, to the poor staff who had to strap my 6ft husband to a chair and carry him down our narrow stairs. I think this service literally saved his life, as he had meningitis and was going downhill fast. The A & E staff and the ITU staff were all brilliant. But the paramedics were crucial. Thankyou so much. I think I would have fallen apart if I lost my husband.

Thank the Paramedics
