...thanks for a better world
On Saturday the 10th July the Ten Team took part in the WAMDSAD wheelchair push. A great day was had by all and we collected many great messages of support for the charity- which you can read below. We also met the Mayor of Maidenhead and Theresa May MP (The Home Secretary) who were kind enough to add their support to our campaign.

Welcome to our Campaign page!

Who are we?

We are a group of people from the Ten Group in Maidenhead. Over the next few weeks we are working on a Campaign to raise the profile of WAMDSAD in the local area, help with their fundraising, and specifically to get teams to sign up to their annual fundraising event- the Wheelchair Push on the 10th July.

Why WAMDSAD?

WAMDSAD is a sports club providing facilities for physically and sensorially disabled people in the district of The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and surrounding areas.

Their members’ include all types of physically and sensorially disabled people covering a whole range of disabilities – the blind, the deaf, amputees, heart disease, paraplegics, tetraplegics, multiple sclerosis: the list is endless. But not only disabled people – their families and friends too, supporters, coaches, escorts, helpers, and volunteers of all sorts.

One of their key objectives is to promote awareness of disability through sport and recreation and particularly integration of disabled and able-bodied people. From its very inception WAMDSAD has had members in Team GB at every Paralympics- bringing home medals of every colour. With the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics on the horizon their work will be more vital than ever over the next few years.

In a nutshell, we believe that WAMDSAD deserves a bit of Thanks for the amazing work they do. If we can have a bit of fun and raise some much needed funds over the coming weeks then all the better.

How can you help?

1. Give them some love! Please take a few minutes to add your Thanks to the messages below. This can be a simple as a message telling them how much you appreciate their hard work, or if you or a friend or family member has benefited from the work they do, we'd love to hear your stories below.

Showing how much you appreciate their work can make all the difference to the people who volunteer their time and energy for the benefit of our community. Details of how to do this are below.

2. Donate some cash. As with every organisation of this kind, WAMDSAD relies greatly on donations to support its work. If you could make a one off donation, or even better a recurring one it would greatly benefit the work they do. Please follow the justgiving link below to set up an online donation.

How to use this website

1. Sign up to Thanksto (this takes 30 seconds); To do this, click on the "support this campaign" button above, register, then return to this page by re-entering the address in the address bar.

3. Write your thanks message - it can be as short and simple as you like; but if you have been directly affected by WAMDSADs work we'd love to hear any stories

The more Thanks we get for WAMDSAD the more people can see and appreciate the amazing work that they do. Please therefore forward this Campaign page to all your friends and family and ask them to add their stories and thanks as well.
