If you believed that libraries are only here to loan dusty books – think again!
Libraries are not a faded, shabby home for musty books. They live in the world of Google and Amazon just like you. What do you remember about libraries when you were younger? When you studied, where did you draw your references from and where did you study when you needed a quiet place? Who provided you with your early portions of literature that helped shape your imagination?
Libraries deserve thanks!
In our lifetime they have:-
- Given us a quiet environment to study or think
- Provided us with books, journals, CD’s and lot more
- Given us internet access
- Helped with our assignments and home work
- Given us a refuge during exam week
- Provided a place to meet new people with similar interests
- Provided a friendly community environment
- Given us an opportunity to hear music
- Helped put new social events in our diary
- Provided a range of learning courses
- Helped us build a new career path
- Proved to be the best resource for learning about the history of my local area
We are providing the opportunity to give something back. THANKS
